    Rules:

Here at the Tackle Zone we are looking to create a friendly and diverse gaming community dedicated to our favourite brutal sport of fantasy football. We’ve created this site to help bring together all parts of the community to help players find others to play with whether it is online or tabletop. Additionally we know that people love posting up pictures of their creations and reading articles about the game. And of course talking about it!

    • Tournaments
Anyone can post up a new tournament. When you do so just fill out the form to get it added. You’ll notice that we have been quite comprehensive with the form to ensure that people can see what the tournament is about without having to go into the rules pack, and this is why most of the fields are mandatory. However to save you time any new tournament created will automatically make a forum post in the tournament section so you don’t have to write everything out twice. The fields also help with the filtering system so that players can find the tournaments that they wish to attend quickly. The idea of making so many fields mandatory is so that people don’t have to go into the pack to find the rules. For this reason much of what you write in your pack can be copy+pasted into the relevant sections. Additional tiers are only opened if you tick the “Enable Tier” button, so if you only have 1 tier then just select all the races and you are done!
    • Leagues
Anyone can add a new league. Just fill out the forum to get it added. There are fewer mandatory fields than in tournaments as we know that leagues are more open and free flowing. Like with tournaments a forum post will be created once you add it. Leagues have 2 special rules. The first is the league key – when you create a new league you will need to create a key for it. This is a sort of password (but don’t make it your password!!). Also make it unique for each league you create. Write this down and keep it secret! This league key allows you to edit your league later, so if you want to run multiple leagues you can just swap your league keys in your profile. Also if you give your league key to someone else they can also edit the league, useful if you have multiple commissioners or if someone else takes over. The second special rule is an automated expiry date. To ensure that old leagues that have died out don’t fill up the search results all leagues will automatically be de-listed after 1 year. In order to keep your league live you just need to edit it and then re-publish it (you don’t need to change anything). This will push back the expiry date for another year.

    • Artwork
Anyone can submit artwork. Rather than creating a new forum post each time users can reply directly within the artwork page, as well as rate it using a star system. Also if people want to use this area to list well painted items that they have for sale they are free to do so. The Tackle Zone does not get any commission or other payment for doing so and is not liable for any problems, so we recommend you list your item elsewhere (such as eBay) and then link to it from here.

    • Blogs
Only approved members will be allowed to post blogs. This is to ensure that we keep the quality high. If you wish to become an approved blogger then just send me an email at admin@thetacklezone.net saying what sort of thing you would like to post with a draft of the first blog entry. Also if you have your own blog then we would be happy to link to it from here – you would create a new blog entry on this site with a short stub explanation of the blog post and then a link to your own site. This allows us to keep the quality high without asking anyone to abandon their own website.

    • Discussion
Civil behaviour will be strictly enforced. Whilst we want to promote discussion, and that often means disagreement, posts should be constructive and helpful in nature. Be on your best behaviour.

This is a new website created from scratch using wordpress functionality. This gives us a good platform with an open product that will allow us to develop the custom features that we want to over the coming years. The downside is that it won’t have as much polish as a more established CMS. If you find things that don’t work or you think can be improved upon (and there are lots of them!) then please let us know in the feedback section so that we can work on improving it.

    FAQ

Currently empty. Post a question in the “Have a question?” post and if there are enough I will add them here!

    Tournament / League Creation

    1. What is a league key?: This is a unique secret identifier for your league. If you have the league key in your profile then you can edit any league with that key, so make it obscure. Giving the code to another commissioner for your league will allow them to edit it as well. Make sure that you don’t use the same key code for more than one league!
    2. My Norwegian zip code doesn’t work: If you enter just the 4 digits it thinks it is a US zip code stub. To make it work for Norway just add the town name after. So if the code is 1366 then write down 1366 Lysakker.
    3. How do I edit my Tournament / League?: To do this you have to go to the dashboard which is only accessible when creating a new Tournament / League. Go to the relevant section (the Tournament or League list page) and select “Create New”. From here on the left menu select Tournament or League. You should then see yours listed, and by hovering over it an option to edit it should appear. Please note that you need to edit your league at least once every 365 days for it to remain on the list.
