The Armoured Armadillos

ARTWORK DESCRIPTION

The Armadillo’s have been through high and lows in their 25 years of existence – table toppers, relegated and all places inbetween but one thing has remained true… The Coach’s dedication to them! The team has been repainted with each release of the game and now stands proudly once again on the pitch

Below is a exert from the teams blog…

The stadium was deserted – the fans had long since departed to take their frustration out on the local tavern trash. A solitary figure remained by the sideline’s, unmoving and silent. The season had been a disaster – the deaths of Eddison and Blake had hit hard… too hard. There had been no getting over that loss – especially at the hands of the hated Wood Elves. The gapping hole left in the team sheet had been filled by their son’s but they were pale shadows of their fathers and would take time to get to the same level… Relegation had been a real bitter pill to swallow, Tier 4 was no place for the Mighty Armadillo’s but there was no escaping the fact that they’d simply not performed! Flashes of brilliance didn’t make up for the appalling standard of most of the Armadillo plays and the reality of life back in DFW was sinking in… the figure stood up and spoke to the empty air…

“If this wasn’t frickin astroturf I’d dig a grave here for myself…”

Time had passed and the first game of the season was on the horizon. Coach Genaro looked at the team sheet in front of him… Chaos Dwarves? He’d heard rumours that the Pointy Hat’s had crossed their borders in search of glory on the Blood Bowl pitch and it would seem that the Dillo’s had drawn them out the hat first. He scanned the team sheet – classic Dwarvy fare across their Blockers, a strong and fast pair of Centaurs and some random Hobgoblins. Nothing to really worry about – a relatively small bench as well… Genaro sat back and took a sip of his tea… It should be a walk in the park but there was always the Bankroller’s looking to stick their oar in… They were always chucking cash at their opponents – hell, Morg had spent so much time playing the Dillo’s in the last couple of season’s he had a seat on the team coach! There would be some meddling from the College’s of Magic as well – good job Bank’s had his rubber soles still. Still, that could be overcome and his squad had the talent to beat what was put in front of them… There was a knock on the door – Game time…
